ShareX can help you take screen captures and share files with others, mostly by uploading them to on-the-cloud services. Moreover, it includes a set of other productivity tools, including a screen color picker, an image editor, a ruler, a DNS changer, a QR code generator and a directory indexer. The application has a nice and neat interface; still, some inexperienced users may have some difficulty to use it at first. Unfortunately, the tool doesn´t come with any link to help documentation whatsoever. Sadly, you may find that the pull-down menus are sometimes uncomfortable to use.
The program supports multiple ways to capture screenshots, which include not only still images but videos and animations as well. As many other similar tools, ShareX allows taking shots of the whole screen, a specific window and a screen region. Moreover, it can also grab the contents of a region drawn in freehand mode as well as of a scrolling area. What´s more, it comes with a rather unique feature that allows grabbing a webpage´s contents in picture format. As to moving images, the tool supports recording not only video files but also animated GIFs.
One of the most valuable assets of this tool is the possibility to upload files to a long list of hosting sites. In this regard, you can specify given destinations for each type of content, such as images and text. Luckily, uploading a file can be as easy as right-clicking it in the file explorer and picking the corresponding menu command.
